2. Work less and Connect More.
While it’s important to pay our bills and save for the future, it’s more important to enjoy your life and foster good relationships. Play with your kids. Have fun with your family. Enjoy the handful of years you have on this planet. Work can wait.
3. Express Your Feelings.
Emotional vulnerability is scary. Do it anyway. Suppressing your feelings results in a half-lived life, and often a lot of illness and resentment. Share your soul with those around you.
4. Keep In Touch.
Maybe you’re not where you want to be, and you’re scared your old friends will think you’re a failure. Maybe you believe that if you stop spinning all the plates long enough to make a phone call, the whole world will come crashing down. Whatever your hold up is, drop it and call your friends.
5. Choose Happiness.
If you choose to be silly or playful, people may think you’re weird. If you make happiness your top priority, someone will tell you to get serious. Let the haters hate. At the end of your life, you don’t want to wish you’d enjoyed more of it.
Learning how to enjoy life takes practice and efforts but the rewards will always be well worth the effort. The best way to find happiness is to make small practical, everyday changes and soon the small changes will add up to greater enjoyment in life.
